Microsoft SQL Server 2012 database (End of Life Servers) were hosted on an EC2 instance for highly transactional application,
the client was actively searching a solution to upgrade the databases with improved performance.
Upgrade scalability and reduce administration overhead with minimal downtime as it is a Highly transactional application.
Approach
The HWS Cloud architecture Team used Database Migration Service (DMS) with Change Data Capture (CDC) to successfully migrate the databases to SQL Server RDS 2019. DMS with CDC helped to reduce downtime.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO COPY FILES FROM ON-PREMISES TO AWS S3?
The best way to copy files from on-premises to AWS S3 is to use AWS CLI (Command Line Interface) or AWS Management Console. With CLI, commands can be used to securely transfer files and directories to S3 buckets. The maximum size for a single file transfer to S3 is 5 TB, while there is no theoretical limit to the total size of the data. The transfer speed depends on factors such as network bandwidth, file size and availability of the S3 service. With the console, you can upload files directly via the web interface.
